FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REBATE

With the introduction of the Australian Federal Government's Energy Efficient Homes Package on 1st July 2009, you may be eligible for assistance of up to $1,000 (rebate through medicare) to install ceiling insulation in your home.

The Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts says:

…..”Under the Energy Efficient Homes Package, more than three million households will benefit from Australia's largest ever energy efficiency program. The Package will help millions of households reduce their energy use, cut their energy bills by up to 40 per cent a year, and increase the comfort and value of their homes.

This is a critical component of the Package and will support thousands of jobs in manufacturing, distribution and installation in the midst of an economic downturn. The insulation component includes:

  • As of September 1st 2009, the homeowner insulation program and the low emission assistance plan for renters have been replaced by the home insulation program. The program provides up to $1000 (rebate through medicare) assistance to all households.
